Mass File Renamer/2 Version 1.01

DESCRIPTION
^^^^^^^^^^^
Batch file renaming with EXIF Datetime support. Although this program
was written to rename pictures from digital cameras you can use it to
rename any files you want using the [INDEX] function. In this case
it will rename the files in the same sequence that they are loaded into
the main list. In a future version I will allow you to move items
up and down in the list.

REQUIREMENTS
^^^^^^^^^^^^
This program was written in VX-REXX and requires VROBJ.DLL.
It also requires RXEXIF.DLL which has been included in
this package.

INSTALLATION
^^^^^^^^^^^^
It's probably a good idea to put both VROBJ.DLL and RXEXIF.DLL in your libpath.

USAGE
^^^^^
I don't know if usage is intuitive but here's the low down.

1.)	Select the files you want to convert by clicking [select files]. You can
also make directories using this dialog.

2.) You can the go back and select more files from different drives/directories
and add them to the list.

3.)	Choose Rename Options :

EXIF Datetime will rename the file as indicated. If no EXIF information
is available in the file, it will set the new filename to be x.jpg where
x = the position in the list of files to be converted. (ex. 000006.jpg for
the 6th file in the list)

EXIF Date_index will rename the file with the exif date followed by an index
number starting with the number specified below this radio button.

INDEX will rename the files in sequence starting with the index value chosen
with increments of one. A prefix does not need to be specified. If
[sort by datetime] is checked then the files will be sorted by the EXIF
	datetime before they are renamed.

4.)	Output options :

[Keep Original] preserves the original file by making a copy with the new filename

[Same Directory] places the new file in the same directory that the original was
	in.

[Choose Directory] allows you to specify an output directory for the files. If this
radio button is set but no directory is chosen, it defaults back to [same directory]
	when the files are converted.

5.) Click [Convert]. A status line across the bottom will show the progress of the conversion.

NOTES
^^^^^
It can take a bit of time to gather the EXIF info if you're converting a large number of
files.

Although I wrote this to convert pictures from my camera that spanned multiple memory cards,
you can pretty much rename any list of files since the the file extension is preserved.

Please let me know if you have an comments or suggestions for this software.
